BNM Custom 2240

BNM Custom 2240

CO2 Powered .22 Pistol/Carbine

General Overview:

This airgun from BNM is gorgeous, accurate, and most of all fun. It comes as a 2240 with a BNM Multishot Breech (I chose right hand, options also are left handed and ambidextrous), a 14" shroud with the stock 8" barrel (LONGER BARREL COMING SOON), a Leapers UTG 4x32 Mil-Dot Reticle 1/4 MOA 1 inch Tube Scope, UTG Max Strength Quick Lock 1" Scope Rings, and a 1399 stock from Crosman. Future upgrades will include a velocity adjuster/Tippmann 98 Stock Adapter, a longer barrel, and heavier hammer springs.

Accuracy:

This gun can stack pellet on pellet at 20 yards. Here is a 40 shot group (to be covered in Efficiency) shot at 25 yards!!

Besides the pellets dropping off to the right as CO2 ran low that's not a bad group. Besides the occasional flyers (some my bad some just flyers) this gun is on point! This grouping was taken with Crosman Premier Hollow Points from the tin (14.3 grain) and were washed. Measures 1.5" CTC and the one jagged hole was about a quarter of an inch!

Power:

Coming soon to a my home...a Chrony!

Bolt/Magazine:

The bolt on this gun is as smooth as butter and magazines are quick and simple to reload. There is the occasional "jam" but normally I just shimmy the bolt back and forth or just force it and it will work out. That is magazine error and not the guns fault at all.

Efficiency:

At 10-15 yards I got 46 useable shots. By 42 I was using first mildot and by 44 I was using the third. 46 was all guess work and lucky it even hit the target. At 20-30 yards I got 30 good accurate shots and then it was difficult to guess where it would land. If you are looking for max shots have a target at the ready for close quarters until you run out of CO2! At either distance I could hear power drop off at 15 to 20 shots but will not know for sure until I get the Chrony.

Looks/Feel:

This gun is sexy. I love the look of the gun and the feel of it in my hands. The 1399 doesn't have a cheek piece which I hate but it is a more than useable stock and anything else will be leagues more expensive! I personally love the all black look and my next project will be a 25 cal version with a chrome breech, shroud, barrel band, scope rings, and scope! That will come in due time however. In the meantime this all black tacticool carbine with the chrome bolt will more than satisfy my eye candy sweet tooth.

Conclusion:

This is a sweet shootin' good lookin' quiet air gun that will satisfy the backyard plinker and the backwoods hunter. A little expensive for some people but in perspective my Benjamin Trail NP All Weather Stock cost just about as much and here's a hint, I'd rather have this one.

What Is Coming

Several reviews are going to be posted very soon. The Gamo Silent Cat (.177), Crosman 1377 with a few modifications, as well as the Benjamin Trail NP All Weather stock (.22) are slated for review. I also have a Crosman 2240 on the way from BNM Custom with a slew of modifications and I will continuously have updates on that project as well as costs. Stay tuned for more!
